ACTIVE CHILDCARE DURING COVID-19

In response to the Coronavirus outbreak, we’re providing fun and active childcare options to key worker parents of 3-15 year olds. Our programmes are safe, engaging and most importantly, delivered by a team of amazing childcare experts. Through a healthy mix of activities, we encourage active learning and help children develop key skills.

Learning through Activity

We believe in the power of ‘active learning’. We deliver that active learning through a range of active games, activities and challenges, children will have the chance to develop key skills such as communication, problem solving and teamwork – all whilst having lots of fun!

Active Childcare is a great choice for parents. Not only does it provide more flexibility with extended hours, it also offers peace of mind with outdoor drop offs, stringent hygiene and distancing measures, and exceptional staff. Children are guaranteed to have a great time too, with opportunities to connect with other children and make friends.

How we make camp safe

First Thing

From 8:00am Registration. Our Extended Hours provision begins, and drop off is flexible during this time. This will be a time for children to do some arts & crafts, play some games or do some reading.

Morning

9.30am. After registration, the day begins with a whole camp warm-up and a reminder of essential rules. Children are then split into age-groups to begin a morning of activities with their coach, split with a break. These will range from active games like kick rounders, funletics or ‘cyclone’ (all games are chosen with social distancing in mind) to personal learning time where children can complete set homework, or some other activities.

Lunch

12.00pm. Lunchtimes at Camp Xplode are supervised and fun. Children sit on separate tables where possible or are seated 2m apart. After eating a healthy packed lunch you’ve lovingly prepared, lunch-time is an opportunity for children to chill-out and get involved in the whole-camp lunch-time games.

Afternoon

1.00pm. Afternoons can be a more chilled time. There will be a set reading time, where children should bring their own books to read, and set arts and crafts time where children will be given their own ‘craft kits’ for the week and complete project.

End Of Afternoon

2.45pm. After a snack break, there might be an outdoor activity such as a nature trail, scavenger hunt or orienteering. Followed by some supervised free-play or chill time.

Extended Afternoon

5.15pm-6.00pm. Time to bring everyone together for a full camp quiz, or sit down for an age-appropriate film. Then at 6pm, it’s time to pick up!
